Do you know your life purpose?

Updated: Dec 10, 2019

Do you know your life purpose?

I sometimes get asked this philosophical question by my clients....what is their life purpose or mission when it comes to their careers?

According to Dr. Doreen Virtue, best-selling author and clairvoyant Doctor of Psychology, working towards fulfilling our life purpose is a key component to healing our lives.

You see, every one of us has an equally important purpose!

Whether it is building or creating something, maintaining operations, selling a brand, organizing national events, teaching children, or serving clients, we have a distinct mission to fulfill. When we have a purpose, we tend to be more motivated to set clear, measurable goals. This also helps foster miracles for transformation.

My purpose is to write. But essentially, through writing, my ultimate purpose is to raise awareness, teach, counsel, heal, inspire, and mentor –– while guiding and supporting jobseekers locally and globally through their career journey towards greater clarity and fulfillment.

When it comes to your career, you just may need to get to the root of experiencing deeper fulfillment -- and that involves the search for meaning. Viktor Frankl, a renowned Austrian neurologist, psychiatrist and psychotherapist, highlighted this concept of our search for meaning in many of his books.

Have you ever stopped and considered....?

Sure, you pay your bills…

You take care of your priorities…

You perform your job with dedication and integrity ….

You put an honest day’s work and show up on time….

But does your life have “meaning” ?

If you are working towards your divine mission, you will know what fundamental problem, challenge, or issue you will want to solve. Your energies will be channelled to fulfill your soul purpose.

Doing your life purpose will not guarantee a perfect career; it does not relieve you of challenges or changes along the way. Every journey is unique and often it is attitude that will propel you further or set you back. However, working on your mission just may make life more meaningful and fuel greater satisfaction and success in other areas of your life. Working towards your life's purpose involves self-love, trust, faith, courage, and authenticity.

Consider:

  • Do you want to wake up in the morning feeling invigorated?

  • Do you want to gain the peace of mind and security knowing that you are fulfilling your authentic life purpose?

  • Do you want to understand what you were put on this earth to do?

If you are experiencing a series of career-related obstacles and roadblocks, there may be a reason. Have you ever stopped to consider that you may not be totally aligned with your divine purpose?

So, if you could do anything when you first wake up, what would it be?

As soon as I started asking this question, I received clarity about my own life purpose, made a career change, and started my own business! Today, I am proud to be an entrepreneur in the career development industry helping numerous jobseekers worldwide.
