Leap Year: Engage in Serious Career Exploration & Decision Making

Today is February 29th – Happy Leap Year! We only see such days every four years. What is the significance of this day and how does it impact your career development?

A complete orbit of the earth around the sun takes precisely 365.2422 days to complete, but the Gregorian calendar uses 365 days. So leap seconds and leap years are added as means of keeping our clocks and calendars synchronized with the Earth and its seasons.

But seriously when it comes to your career, are you in sync with your purpose and passion? Are you a “leaper” – or you do carefully and strategically carve out every career move before taking the risk-taking leap – whether it be working in a new work environment or taking on a completely different role?

While it is healthy to take risks and challenge ourselves, sometimes, it is best to “look before you leap”. We may need to initially conduct some inner reflection and do some soul-searching of our changing values in order to weigh all possible choices and make informed decisions.

My ‘Career Exploration-Decision Making Package’ will help you to explore your strengths and values while helping you to identify what sets you apart from other candidates. The purpose of the Career Exploration-Decision Making Package is to help align your purpose and passion with your career-related decisions. The creative brainstorming exercises and assessments serve as a guiding tool to your career development. The more you discover about your skills, competencies, values, personality and interests, the more likely you are to discover your true career path – and most successful career path aligned with your passion and purpose. You will also find out what type of work environment best suits you.

Don’t consider the extra day on February 29th just another work day – it is your chance to make a positive change in your career. Whether you are considering having a fully customized portfolio created or engaging in career exploration and decision making with the assistance of a Certified Resume Strategist, you will be taking a wise leap!
